About the event

The premise of this new book is a retelling of tales of saints that give representation to aspects of diversity & inclusion - be it a trans monk, a bandit bishop, a time-travelling abbess, or even a mermaid saint. They are all connected in some way with what we might call the Celtic tradition (particularly as understood by the Community of Aidan & Hilda). There are some well-known ones, like Brendan, Brigid, Winefride & Cædmon, and more obscure ones like Neot, Muirgen, Marinos & Ronán. Even a local saint, Robert of Knaresborough is included.

There is no distinction in Elizabeth's telling between history and legend. The stories just are. They are full of symbolism, which is both Celtic and Christian. Several of them are connected to the Arthurian legend.
